Volunteer

The Global Game Jam® (GGJ®) is the world's largest game creation event taking place in physical locations across the globe, the weekend 30. Jan - 1 Feb. 2026. And the biggest jam site in Norway is Hamar. We are in need of 60 volunteers to help make GGJ Hamar run smoothly.

About Volunteering

As a volunteer, you can participate as a jammer for free! You’ll also receive:

• An exclusive volunteer t-shirt.
• Plenty of food

Volunteers will be assigned one or two 2-hour shifts during the jam and will assist with setup before and cleanup afterward. At any given time, there will be three volunteers on duty. Volunteers are divided into three groups: Wizards, Hunters and Knights. Your volunteer leader will provide more information on-site about your tasks. All volunteers should be prepared to assist organizers if needed during the event. Being a volunteer does not hinder you in participating in the jam!

WIZARDS

• Sit at the info desk.
• Let jammers into the building.
• Lend out equipment.
• Manage “Lost & found” items.

HUNTERS

• Make coffee and boil water.
• Maintain and clean the food area.
• Help hand out pizza Friday and Saturday.

KNIGHTS

• Patrol the area and enforce rules.
• Monitor and empty garbage bins.
• Clean up and dismantle setups after talks and workshops.
